The concept was to “enhance the image of an adult man,” but special attention was given to color selection to avoid an overly authentic and subdued impression.

While matching the rough atmosphere of the exposed concrete interior, the BARBER owner sought a striking vibrancy and a playful sophistication, leading to a research trip to Cuba and Mexico to observe their streets and shops. Aged walls and tiles were incorporated to evoke a sense of history and raw earthiness, while stylish furniture and fixtures were introduced to balance the overall space.

A hidden passage behind a concealed door leads to the private BARBER, where gold leaf from Rekiseisha, a Hiroshima-based company with over 100 years of history, emits a subtle glow, guiding guests into the space.
